As with every product, its longevity will depend on the care you give it. These are some helpful hints on how to look after your LMN Jewelry pieces. All sterling silver jewelry will tarnish with time, as soon as sterling silver makes contact with oxygen, tarnishing begins. 1. Tarnish can easily be taken off your jewelry with a sterling silver polish cloth. It should be a non-abrasive cotton cloth. There are also disposable cloths (Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes) available at your local discount store in the jewelry section. These cloths also leave an anti-tarnish layer on your jewelry to slow the oxidation process. 2. An ionic cleaner can be used to clean your jewelry, it is safe for just about all Gems, Crystal, and Pearls. Do not put hematite in the ionic cleaner. 3. When not wearing your silver jewelry, store it in a cool dry place. We recommend a sealable plastic bag. This helps reduce the rate of tarnish as well as protects your piece from scratches. 4. Always remove your jewelry before doing household chores, where you might come in contact with chlorine, salt water, abrasive cleaners and detergents. 5. Although all LMN Jewelry pieces are made to the highest quality, do not wear your jewelry to bed, swimming, in the shower, or while cleaning.
